The Walking Dead, The Bridge: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
8) After Michonne pressures Jesus about establishing a set of rules, we return to Anne/Jadis and Father Gabriel at the worksite, where Anne is drawing a portrait of the organist from Father Gabriel’s church, whom we met (In walker form) along with Gabriel in the second episode of Season Five, “Strangers”. Interestingly, when Anne asks Gabriel about her later, he doesn’t name her; She hasn’t been named at any point thus far in the series.
9) While discussing Anne’s issues with acceptance from the rest of the Alexandrians, Father Gabriel recounts his similar problems across Seasons Five and (Most of) Six, and how their experiences compare.
10) After Tammy reunites with Earl, we jump to Rosita setting up demolition charges to activate a rock slide to disperse an approaching herd. This is the third time we’ve seen Rosita’s explosives expertise on display, the other two being in the Season Seven midseason premiere, “Rock In The Road”, and the Season Seven finale “The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life”, where she attempted to use explosives stolen from The Saviors to blow them up.
11) As Rosita prepares to detonate the explosives, Arat suggests moving further away from the blast, which is then followed by a discussion as to whether Rosita would trust her, wherein Rosita says no, citing Arat cutting her face following her attempt to shoot Negan in the Season Seven midseason finale, “Hearts Still Beating”. I guess some wounds never heal.
12) According to Earl’s sentence, this episode takes place a month after the season premiere, “A New Beginning”.
13) Rick using the logs to destroy much of the herd is similar to Alicia using a pile of logs to save Morgan in the Fear The Walking Dead Season Four midseason premiere, “People Like Us”, though, in that case, she dropped them from a crane, but, you get the idea.
