Should The Communities Stop Trying To Build An Alliance?

Are the communities ever going to be able to pull together? Or is the best thing for all of them to cut ties and try to make it on their own?

Sonya says:

"I’m not sure this is the right time to try to build a larger community or alliance of communities. Because the communities can’t form the kind of society Rick wants until all of them are self-sustaining. On a plane they tell you if the pressure drops to put on your own oxygen mask before helping someone else. When someone is drowning you have to make sure that you’re safe before you try to help them. The communities can’t help build and protect a larger alliance until they are all taking care of their own needs. And right now The Saviors are still dependent on the other communities and that’s causing friction. So after The Sanctuary is self-sustaining I think then they can consider a larger alliance but not until then."

Sara says:

"This is definitely a decision that all of the communities are going to need to make. It seems like a lot of people want to pull together, but some of the Saviors are not falling in line. Plus, there are people like Maggie & Cyndie who don’t agree with Rick’s way of life, so it’s difficult to say at this point. I wouldn’t want to see them hurt each other more by coming together, so it’s something that each community will need to figure out for themselves going forward."

Sarabeth says:

"Even if the communities broke apart, they would still need to be able to govern themselves and find a way to get along. With supplies being uneven they would have to be able to develop a bartering system, which means cooperation. So they will never truly be able to separate from each other."
