The Walking Dead continues this week with season 9 episode 4. Here’s your complete recap of what happened in “The Obliged.”

It’s a new day in Alexandria. Peaceful. Idyllic. Michonne gets up, leaving Rick to sleep. She kisses him before she goes. She cooks food for Judith, then she goes out to help the community. She does everything. Helping people, planning things. Everything.

Suddenly Michonne wakes up. She had been dreaming, and she looks over at her katana. Soon she’s outside in the dead of night killing walkers.

The next day, she’s back at it. Working on the charter with stacks of books and her sword nearby. She goes out to do some clearing that night.

When she gets back she cleans the blade, baby monitor dutifully in place.

This happens night after night. Day after day. She plays with Judith and Rick. Then she goes out to hunt.

Then one night she spots a walker hanging high up in a tree. It’s raining but she can see that the man hasn’t been dead long. His hands have been bound. This wasn’t something that happened by accident. A walker comes after her and she uses a bat that looks a lot like Lucille to fight him off. She grabs her blade and returns home.

Cue the credits. Here we go!
