Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead among the highest paid TV actors

Norman Reedus plays Daryl on The Walking Dead and is very well compensated for his work on the popular AMC zombie survival drama series.

When you ask people who their favorite character is on AMC’s The Walking Dead, odds are that you’ll hear people say the name Daryl Dixon pretty often because of his ability to kick butt and appeal to fans with his charisma.

A part of the show since the first season, the character played by Norman Reedus has become a prominent part of the popular undead drama and has become an important part of the program’s ninth season.

This season, Reedus may be taking on a bigger role, but he’s also getting a significant payday for his work. According to the Variety website, the actor is making $1 million per episode with only a handful of actors are making more than him, including megastars like Javier Bardem, Reece Witherspoon, and Jennifer Aniston.

Considering the apocalyptic show is going forward without Chandler Riggs, Andrew Lincoln, Lauren Cohan, and others, keeping their star power intact while altering the storylines from the popular comic book material is essential.

Digital Spy offered their thoughts on the salary of Reedus, justifying the payday for the actor:

"“Although ratings are down, The Walking Dead is still a behemoth of a show, so it’s no surprise that Daryl actor Norman Reedus pockets a whopping $1 million per episode. And we all know The Walking Dead has a lot of episodes.”"

Of course, this doesn’t mean that Reedus has been making this salary since his introduction on The Walking Dead. In fact, his salary has increased over the years as justified with his rise to stardom and the show’s popularity.

It will be interesting to see what kind of plan AMC has for The Walking Dead and Norman Reedus in the future, but it’s good to know that with his compensation and increased workload, odds are he’ll be around for a long time.
