Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, has been included in the list of the 500 most influential business entertainment leaders and Icons.

It’s hard to go anywhere these days without seeing zombies these days. Robert Kirkman has created a franchise full of undead fans who have enjoyed comics, tv shows, toys, video games, collectibles, and much, more more.

In fact, The Walking Dead is a worldwide phenomenon and the most popular drama show on television, constantly winning the Sunday night timeslot with some of the most heart-wrenching drama and action people can watch.

However, Robert Kirkman is significantly more than just The Walking Dead. In fact, he has joined Amazon where he will create some more great programming for their streaming service for fans to enjoy, including an adaptation of Invincible.

The way Kirkman got his start in comics and continues to make a huge impact. Great properties such as The Walking Dead, Outcast, Invincible,  and Oblivion Song are some of the hits among Super Dinosaur, DieDieDie, and others which are starting to get some great attention among fans of graphic novels.

With so much going on for Robert Kirkman, it’s not much of a surprise that he has been included in the Variety500, which is an “index of the 500 most influential business leaders shaping the global $2 trillion entertainment industry.”

Skybound Entertainment and Skydance Entertainment continue to grow with Kirkman at the helm. With multiple TV shows, comics, and great properties under his umbrella, his inclusion on the list was inevitable. Here is what Variety had to say about him:

"“No matter what happens to his cable phenomenon, Kirkman’s business is always booming.”"

And that statement is true. Even if the bottom fell out of AMC’s zombie drama shows, Kirkman would be more than fine with the empire he has built. And it also seems as though the empire will continue growing for many years to come.
