The Walking Dead continues with season 9 episode 5, “What Comes After.” Here’s your synopsis of the all-new episode airing November 4, 2018.

After a cliffhanger for the ages in last week’s episode of The Walking Dead, Rick’s life is in the balance after he fell onto a piece of rebar that left him a bloody mess with two herd of walkers bearing down on him.

Maggie is still on her way to Alexandria for the first time since the war ended and she is after Negan. Rick’s warning fell on deaf ears as Rachel opted to not pass along the message, so no one knows that she’s coming. The big question: Will she kill Negan once and for all?

Here’s the episode description of The Walking Dead “What Comes After” from AMC:

“Rick is forced to face the past as he struggles to maintain the safety of the communities and protect the future he and Carl envisioned.”

It’s hard to believe that after nine seasons it’s time to say goodbye to Rick Grimes. Though speculation about what will happen is rampant, whether Rick lives or dies at the end of “What Comes After” is irrelevant because no matter what happens Andrew Lincoln is leaving the show and it’s time to say goodbye.

Be prepared for an emotional episode with some familiar faces from past seasons as Jon Bernthal, Scott Wilson and Sonequa Martin-Green return for a cameo appearance as previously announced. This is a particularly bittersweet moment because “What Comes After” is Scott Wilson’s final role before his tragic death on October 6.

While so much of this episode is about saying goodbye, it’s also a chance to say hello to a new future for The Walking Dead. With Angela Kang at the helm, there’s a whole world of possibilities out there and it will be interesting to see what happens from this point forward.
