The bad things from TWD 905

  1. Riding a horse, walking, or even moving. The fact Rick is able to do anything after he is able to get off that rebar is pretty astounding, but it is difficult to watch just how painful something like the light gallop of a horse can be on his body after suffering such a wound.
  2. Struggling to care about Anne or even Maggie. While the story of Jadis and Maggie were important in this installment of the story, it was hard to pay attention to it early in the episode when so much focus was on telling the story of Rick attempting to survive his horrible situation.
  3. How is my baby girl? The interaction between Shane and Rick in the hallucination touching on the real father or Judith was a bit strange considering this was an episode with Rick attempting to survive while living for those he loves. While it was fun, it was a bit of a punch to the gut. Classic Shane.
  4. Michonne stopping Maggie. She’s trying to explain how killing Negan would create an even worse situation for relations between the communities. But using Glenn’s death and assuming what he would want is no way to appeal to her senses. Maggie has been dealing with this for a long, long time…and she’s not going to let it go because she was told to.
  5. Another time jump. While I loved seeing the new version of Judith and the introduction of Magna, Yumiko, and the other comic characters, I feel like this would have been better served as the start of another episode or maybe even holding off until the midseason break.
