Overall impression of TWD 905

Wow. Okay…where to begin? Let’s start by just stating the obvious. This was one of the most artistic episodes of The Walking Dead ever with so many great nods to the past as well as the comics, and plenty of hints at what is to come in the future.

It was great seeing so many faces from the past and how it was done with Rick going in and out of consciousness. The beauty and contrast within the scenes and the power of the manipulated hallucinations just left a fantastic impression on the viewers.

Adding in the altercation with Negan and Maggie was interesting and provided a bit of a contrast as did the communication between the people with the helicopter and Anne felt odd at the moment, but the reason those scenes were included made sense at the end.

The emotionally powerful episode not only said farewell to Rick, but it also had a time jump that will change everything again. A more grown version of Judith, as well as the introduction of Magna, Yumiko, Luke, and others, will be quite interesting and introducing those characters to the community will also be the viewers being updated on what happened.

It’s hard to say goodbye to Rick Grimes, but it’s good to know that it isn’t farewell forever. But this was still one of the most beautiful episodes of the show ever made and it was artistic and poetic enough to be watchable multiple times to see things that were missed. But it really was great.

EPISODE GRADE: 9.6/10
