The Walking Dead continues with season 9 episode 5, “What Comes After” Here’s what you need to know to watch on TV and online.

It’s the end of an era and the start of a new one with Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, appropriately titled “What Comes After,” as we say goodbye to Rick Grimes.

Andrew Lincoln made the decision a while back to leave the show so that he can spend more time with his family, which is admirable and honorable, and as fans we’re thankful that his family shared him with us over the past nine years. His legacy will be felt long after his departure, and thankfully we can take solace that Lincoln will be back in season 10 as a director.

Here’s the episode description of The Walking Dead “The Obliged” from AMC:

“Rick is forced to face the past as he struggles to maintain the safety of the communities and protect the future he and Carl envisioned.”

After the bloody ending to last week’s episode “The Obliged” Rick finds himself between a rock and a hard place after being impaled by a piece of rebar. The two herds are converging on his location and he has to move or be consumed.

While Rick is trying to survive, Maggie is on a mission to see Negan in her first visit to Alexandria since the end of the war. She wants revenge and she’s not stopping until she gets it.
