Will we see a Richonne baby on The Walking Dead?

The Walking Dead has jumped six years into the future, but if Rick and Michonne were pregnant then we might see Baby Richonne soon.

Rick and Michonne made the decision to try for a baby on The Walking Dead, but we don’t know if she was pregnant before the time jump. If she was, we might meet a six-year old Richonne child on the next episode.

All of The Walking Dead babies and children are a lot older thanks to the time jump. Judith is about 10 or 11 now, Hershel will be 7 or 8 (though we won’t see him anymore because Lauren Cohan is done for season 9), Grace would also be about 7 or 8 and even Henry will be a teenager now.

While this makes things a lot easier from a filming standpoint (no more babies on set) and from a story standpoint (it’s not easy to keep youngsters safe in the apocalypse) it does mean that there will be no more children for main characters. (We already know that there have been some babies at other communities since the end of All Out War)

If Rick and Michonne conceived a child before the events of “What Comes After” then that child would be about 5 years old. Sure, we missed the baby Richonne years but we’ll take Baby Richonne any way we can get him or her. The pitter patter of little feet would certainly help Michonne recover from losing Rick while helping to keep his legacy and lineage alive. Having a baby might even help her to keep hope alive that he’s still out there somewhere.

Baby Richonne would be a huge (and welcome) surprise when we learn more about the time jump on the next episode of The Walking Dead. Fans will have to get up to speed quickly, but from the look of the previews it looks like there’s a lot to look forward to on this bold new era of The Walking Dead.
