Carol and Henry ride along through an industrial area when Henry asks if they’re going the right way. He thought the turnoff for the Hilltop was a while back, but Carol reveals that they’re not going there yet. A woman starts screaming nearby, calling for help, so Henry stops the wagon and runs off to help her. Carol follows him, telling him to stop. When Henry arrives he finds men on a woman, but then she raises her weapon at him, calling him her hero. Carol arrives with her bow and arrow and tells them to drop it. That’s when Savior Jed walks out. He calls Carol “Boss Lady” and gives her a little salute.
Rosita and Eugene ride along. Eugene notes that she must really like Gabriel because she’s breaking the rules to stand by him, which he claims says a lot about her relationship. He starts telling her that there are other people she could choose from who are equally qualified to court her, but he doesn’t come out and say he’s talking about him. They come across the tracks of a herd but they’re going East. Thankfully they’re going West.
Siddiq reports that Yumiko is doing better and can probably leave the next day. Magna wonders if she should leave, but Siddiq says it’s not his call. Luke asks if Siddiq was there from the start and he reveals that he came later, but it was a different time. Luke wonders if there’s a reason things changed and Siddiq hedges on it.
The Saviors saw Carol coming and Jed reveals that times have been tough since the Sanctuary fell. They’re using walkers to pull their wagons because they ate their horses. They don’t have food so they’re going to take all of Carol’s supplies. Jed knows she spared his life in the past so he’s not going to hurt them and he’s going to give the wagon back. They just need the supplies. And Carol’s wedding ring. Carol gives him a long look, but Henry decides to fight him with his stick. The boy is quickly taken down so Carol hands him the ring and tells them to go. Jed’s parting words are that he likes her hair.
Back in Alexandria Judith is working on math…with Negan. The problem involves airplanes, so Negan tells her that she’ll probably never see an airplane so she should focus on real life math that applies to the here and now. Judith sets the book aside and tells Negan about the strangers and how Michonne is going to make them leave. Negan didn’t know about the strangers but he’s guessing that she wants to help because he evidently knows her well enough. He tells her the story of how he used to bring home stray dogs when he was a kid until one day one stray killed all of the other strays and attacked his mom. That dog was as friendly as the other ones. Judith asks if he ever brought home another stray again and Negan says he wised up after that. Judith packs up her things, noting that Negan didn’t learn from his mistake. That’s why she only gets help from him with math, because it doesn’t matter if he’s a good or bad person, the numbers don’t care. Negan smiles to himself. He likes Judith.
Eugene is on the water tower placing the signal booster and he’s about to come down when he looks up to see a herd coming their way. He calls down to Rosita, who tells him to hurry. The horses get spooked and run off, leaving them without transportation. Eugene makes it down but the ladder at the end falls away. He jumps and hurts his leg, making it impossible for him to run. She hurries over to him and then gets a shovel to use as a crutch. The herd must have turned around. They rush off before the herd can catch them.
Later that night Carol and Henry prepare the wagon to sleep. He can’t understand why she just let them do what they did even though she taught him to stand up for himself and he doesn’t see why she didn’t stand up to Jed. As he gets ready for bed she looks at her ring finger.
