The Walking Dead fans were a little anxious about how The Walking Dead would be without Rick Grimes but “Who Are You Now” had fans feeling emotional.
The Walking Dead is now officially in the post-Rick Grimes era. The opening credits of “Who Are You Now” did not have Andrew Lincoln’s name for the first time since the show began. Also absent was Lauren Cohan’s name, because Maggie’s story is on hiatus while Lauren works on a new show for ABC.
The Walking Dead had a lot to prove with this episode. Fans were anxious to see if the show could maintain the intensity and emotion that Andrew Lincoln brought to the show. But after seeing “Who Are You Now” most fans have little doubt that the show will continue to be the show that they have loved for all these years.
In “Who Are You Now” The Walking Dead showed fans a little more of what has happened in the big six-year time jump. Carol and Ezekiel are ruling The Kingdom. Daryl is living out on his own. The Saviors disbanded, and many are dead. The Hilltop wasn’t seen but seems to be doing well. And Alexandria is thriving like never before. There is a council for making community decisions, and Michonne has never been fiercer. Judith is growing up quickly and it was revealed that Michonne did get pregnant by Rick and has a son, RJ.
Magna and her group seem like they will be great additions to the cast and last night The Whisperers arrived, which is something fans have been waiting for. The reactions to The Walking Dead “Who Are You Now” ran the gamut from sad to thrilled and terrified. Check out the best ones:

I seriously have to commend #TheWalkingDead for bringing us the characters of Connie and Kelly. It is truly amazing that we are seeing representation of deaf and hard of hearing people in our show. Lauren Ridloff & Angel Theory are such welcome additions to the show!

And the tweet of this week this week:
#TWD This (I feel) is the reboot that's needed.
— Mike J (@WayneC0RP) November 12, 2018
Agreed. The Walking Dead needed the same kind of soft reboot that Fear The Walking Dead had in season 4. Losing Rick and Maggie is terribly sad, but we know they will be back again in some way in the future. And now the show is free to pursue new storylines, new character arcs, and new threats. The Walking Dead is once again the most exciting, intense, and electrifying show on TV with the most diverse cast of any genre show.
