5 bold predictions for The Walking Dead 907
“Stradivarius” marks the second episode in the new era of the show and we’re still learning what happened. Here are 5 bold predictions for The Walking Dead 907.
The challenge facing The Walking Dead at this point is to move forward in their narrative while providing information about what happened in the past. Six years is a lot of time to simply gloss over, and so the show must provide information about what happened in order to help the present make sense. Looking ahead at episode 907, “Stradivarius” is poised to reveal more information about the past while moving fans into an exciting time in the story.
With tension among the communities, new people who might or might not be trustworthy and a new threat on the horizon, this week’s episode is poised to have a lot going on.
Here are 5 bold predictions for The Walking Dead 907:
Who’s In Charge at Hilltop?
As an audience we know that Lauren Cohan has finished work on season 9 of The Walking Dead. From a story standpoint, though, we don’t know who is running the show at the Hilltop. From what we can gather the leader is a woman and she doesn’t
Given how the women of Oceanside rallied around Maggie and her decision to kill Gregory, which in turn inspired their slaughter of the Saviors, it’s quite possible that the women have moved in at the Hilltop. It wouldn’t be surprising to find that Cyndie herself has taken over as the leader. She has experience, and aside from the slaughter business she’s quite savvy.
Tara, Enid and Jesus
Upon arriving in the post-Rick world we checked in with almost everyone. We’re still waiting to see Tara, Enid and Jesus. While it’s easy to explain Enid and Jesus’ absence (since they’ve been based at Hilltop) Tara had been based at Alexandria prior to the time jump but she definitely wasn’t there in “Who Are You Now.”
Since they haven’t been seen yet, I think they have all three established themselves at the Hilltop. There is some lingering tension between the Hilltop and the other communities, so when we finally see Tara, Jesus and Enid I think we’re going to see sides of them that haven’t been seen before. I think they’re going to be very pro-Hilltop in their approach, which may be a result of losing Maggie, and might explain why there has been some tension.
Of the three, Jesus is the most skilled at moving diplomatically between groups (we see him with Aaron in the preview) but the big question is whether or not they will still enjoy the relationship they had prior to Rick’s loss, or if things have changed.
Where Is Carol Going?
Carol is supposed to deliver Henry to the Hilltop for training, and they picked up Daryl on their journey. But Carol told Henry she needs to make a stop first, and it was before she killed the Saviors so she wasn’t on a hunting trip. I also have to think it wasn’t just to run into Daryl. Surely she had another destination in mind.
There’s no reason that she wouldn’t just come out and tell Henry that they’re going to Alexandria, so it must be some other destination. My guess in that case: The Sanctuary. She probably has people she wants to check on, and that’s why she’s not telling anyone that she’s going there.
Then again, if her intention was to see Daryl (as we see in the sneak peek) then why didn’t she just come out and say it? Is there a reason she’d hide that from Ezekiel and Henry?
Is Carol keeping her friendship with Daryl a secret?
The Whisperers
In “Who Are You Now?” we got our first look at the Whisperers. The Walking Dead’s newest group of villains are on the move and they will soon pose a major threat to the communities.
We’ve seen previews of upcoming episodes featuring the walkers moving in strange configurations, walking in circles in fields. But it’s the idea of the herd moving with intention, shifting direction with purpose, that poses a huge threat. That makes the herds a weapon. Gabriel and Rosita can’t be too far from Alexandria, which means the herd is coming.
Magna’s Group Will Prove Useful
Magna and her group are being taken to the Hilltop, but I don’t think they’re going to stay there. I think Michonne will find too much value in keeping them around, and she’ll change her mind. This might even be the point when she starts trusting people again, albeit slowly.
Each person in Magna’s group can offer something to Alexandria. They have been places that our group has never explored, and they have seen things that could prove useful from a tactical standpoint, which Michonne will surely appreciate. Without knowing the situation at the Hilltop, it makes sense that Michonne might realize that they’re better off staying with them instead of joining the other community.
