25 most polarizing The Walking Dead characters

12. Jadis/Anne
The leader of the garbage people has tried multiple times to kill Rick Grimes and she double-crossed the entire Alexandria community. Even though Rick and Michonne let her come to live in Alexandria after Simon and The Saviors killed her people, they never really trusted her with good reason.
From the very beginning, fans hated Jadis. After Rick and Michonne and a few of the others went to The Heap to rescue Father Gabriel, Jadis dropped Rick into a garbage pit with Winslow to see if he was worthy. When he bested Winslow, she made a deal to have her people fight with Rick and the others against The Saviors but double-crossed them when Negan promised her people in exchange for them turning on Rick.
Now fans know that she needed those people in order to trade them to the helicopter community for supplies. But even after that double-cross, she continued to be a problem. She kidnapped Rick and was going to trade him to the helicopter community, but he almost killed her and got free.
Once Negan was defeated and she joined Alexandria, she still wasn’t trusted by Rick or any of the others because of her past lies and deceit. She seemed to be making an effort to fit in with the Alexandria community and was even starting to have a relationship with Father Gabriel when once again she betrayed them all. She kidnapped Father Gabriel and was going to use him as her ticket to the helicopter community. Jadis did eventually let him go and took off on her own.
That’s when she found Rick. While she gets bonus points for saving the ironic sheriff, she also loses points because she used him to get into the helicopter community and took him away from Michonne and his family. And while fans may have been able to overlook her earlier attempts to murder Rick and the double cross of Alexandria, they are not going to forgive Jadis for taking Rick Grimes away from Judith and Michonne and leaving them thinking that Rick was dead.
