8. Eugene

Like many of the others on this list, Eugene’s few and far between good deeds don’t redeem some of the truly terrible things that he’s done. Eugene’s first monstrous act was lying to Abe about having a cure for whatever caused the apocalypse.

By duping Abe and Rosita into protecting him, he managed to survive even though he had no fighting skills, but he never thought twice about having two strangers repeatedly risk their lives for him. If it weren’t for his lie, the group might never have ended up going to Virginia and Glenn and Abe might still be alive.

When Negan took Eugene for making the bullet that Rosita used to try to kill him in Alexandria, Eugene immediately flipped his allegiance to Negan. He liked being safe. And he liked the perks that came with being a valued member of The Saviors. Negan appreciated Eugen’s knowledge and problem-solving skills which Eugene felt Rick never really did. So Eugene stayed to help Negan and he actively worked against Rick and the others.

When Rosita showed up with Sasha, Eugene could have left with Rosita but he chose to stay with The Saviors. And later, when Rosita and Daryl kidnapped him to stop him from making bullets for The Saviors, he threw up on Rosita in order to get away from her and get back to his outpost.

He did sabotage the bullets that he was making to give Rick and the others a fighting chance. But that by itself doesn’t make up for all of Eugene’s cowardly decisions and lies.
