24. Aiden Monroe

Deanna and Reg Monroe seemed like nice people and Deanna was a good leader, but their sons were jerks. Aiden Monroe was in ROTC before the apocalypse and thought that made him a fighter and a leader. But really he was a coward and was not a very good leader or a very good killer.

He and Nicholas didn’t know how to deal with walkers effectively and they were reckless around the walkers which got four of their friends killed on a run before Rick’s group arrive. And his recklessness almost got Tara killed twice. When Aiden tried to bow up to Glenn and Glenn knocked him down it was a pretty satisfying moment to watch.

Ultimately Aiden’s lack of caution and skills put Glenn, Tara, Noah, Nicholas, and Eugene in danger when the group went on a run to a huge warehouse for supplies to fix the solar grid that powered Alexandria. Aiden refused to take Glenn’s suggestion to scout the warehouse, assess the walker situation, and take their time finding the safest way in and out. Aiden wanted to go in guns blazing as fast as possible.

While in the warehouse he shot a walker that was in military gear and missed, hitting a grenade that the walker was wearing. The blast knocked Tara out and got Aiden impaled. Nicholas, another coward, wanted to leave Nicholas for dead but Glenn and the others wouldn’t. After they took care of Tara the best that they could they knew they had to get out of there. There was no way to free Aiden and he was eaten by walkers. He deserved it because it was his own recklessness and poor marksmanship that got him killed. It’s just a good thing he didn’t get Tara killed in the process.
