What Happened In Alexandria?

There were several allusions to something bad that happened in the past. What do you think happened?

Sonya says:

"I think that after The Sanctuary fell apart and people were starving they took in some of The Saviors. Savior Laura is on the council in Alexandria so it looks like some of The Saviors ended up in Alexandria. My guess is that they took in some of The Saviors, who tried to take over the community and free Negan. And of course that didn’t end well for them."

Sara says:

"I think the Alexandrians took in an individual or group who they shouldn’t have. This probably led to chaos, and would explain the wound on Michonne’s back."

Jeffrey says:

"When Rick’s group first arrived at Alexandria, Deanna stated that they let in a group that didn’t work out and she was forced to exile them. I feel as though something similar happened here, but with far deadlier consequences. Perhaps they were forced to kill the group instead of simply exiling them. It honestly seems like no one really wants to talk about it, but whatever happened really shaped where they are now and they definitely don’t want to go back to that point."

Sarabeth says:

"I think that at some point a group came through looking for help, and the communities, high on honoring Rick and Carl’s vision, tried to help. Ultimately they were betrayed, badly, and that led to their reluctance to help people. Jed mentioned that the Sanctuary went bust but judging by Carol’s reaction this wasn’t the cause of the tension everyone is feeling. It was something bigger and more personal than we know at this point."
