Gamers curious about what is happening with Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season finally got an update to shed some light on the situation.

For a while, it looked as though fans of the Telltale Games’ popular interactive storytelling franchise might not get to see a conclusion to the last game in The Walking Dead series to find out what happens to Clementine and the other survivors they have grown to care about.

When the game was in purgatory, Skybound swooped in to ensure The Final Season would get a complete release, exciting many gamers who had already purchased the game as well as the entire season pass.

On Nov. 19, Skybound released an update to fill people in on what is happening with the game and while the news isn’t all great, there are some wonderful things to take away from the statement.

First, the Skybound apologized for the release of upcoming episodes of the game being delayed, although it is not their fault in the least. However, development is happening on the game now and that should be very exciting!

"“After Telltale shut its doors, the game was, unfortunately, unable to be worked on and hence the release dates of Episodes 3 and 4 have been delayed. But, we’re excited to let you know that many of the talented, passionate team members who originally worked on the game are resuming development efforts today!”"

With the game resuming development, that means the two remaining episodes of the game will be on their way, but they won’t be out when initially announced. However, soon there will be a schedule released for that content.

"“Soon, we will be announcing release dates for the two remaining episodes.”"

The best news of all is about the game’s availability. For the time being, The Walking Dead: The Final Season has put its sales of the game on hold while the issues get sorted out. But soon, content can both be verified for those who already bought it and made available for those who are interested in purchasing it.

"“It’s likely that previous seasons of the game may be unavailable to purchase for a few days as we transition—but don’t panic!—we’ll have everything back online ASAP. If you already purchased Season Four, you will NOT have to pay again; future episodes will be available to download as soon as they are released via your original point of purchase.”"
