It’s hard to believe that we have arrived at the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead but here we are. It has been a rough season so far with an 18-month time jump, losing Rick, another six-year jump and now the arrival of a terrifying new threat. That said, it has been a while since there has been this much tension building up on the show and it’s a lot of fun to see.
Here’s the episode description of The Walking Dead “Evolution” from AMC:
“A small rescue mission braves a dangerous herd in their hunt for a missing comrade, only to discover a surprising threat that could doom them all.”
We know a few things heading into the mid-season finale. Eugene is still out in the woods and Aaron, Jesus and Daryl have gone off to find him. Michonne and Magna and the rest of the group received word that Rosita was injured and at Hilltop, so they’re all on their way to bring her home despite Michonne’s original plan to turn back.
There’s also the problem of the talking walkers. Is it evolution, as the episode title suggests, or is it something more sinister? Fans of the comics know the answer and fans of the show are about to find out that the Whisperers are every bit as terrifying as they sound.
