When does The Walking Dead return for 9B?
After a chilling mid-season finale, The Walking Dead will take some time off over the winter break before returning in 2019.
The Walking Dead season 9 has ushered in a new era for the series under the leadership of showrunner Angela Kang. Rick Grimes may be gone, but the show continues with action packed stories and now that the Whisperers have officially arrived it’s a whole new ballgame. So when will the show return for the second half of season 9?
The Walking Dead returns for the mid-season premiere on Sunday, February 10. The show will take a couple of months off while the episodes for the second half of the season go through post-production.
After hearing all about the positive buzz surrounding season 9, fans who haven’t watched yet will have plenty of time to catch up while fans who have been watching can start a re-watch of what has been one of the best seasons of the show in a very long time. The mid-season finale proved beyond a doubt that there are good things coming in season 9B, and by good things for the audience to watch. I don’t think 9B will be fun for the characters in The Walking Dead universe.
Three episodes into the time jump and there are still so many questions to be answered, especially after witnessing Michonne’s chilly reception at the Hilltop. There’s some bad history there, and we still need to know what happened. However, those answers can wait because the Whisperers have arrived and they are absolutely terrifying.
It was bad enough having to deal with normal villains, but facing enemies that look and act like walkers is a whole new ballgame. The fact that they can move among the herd unseen is also problematic as it makes them very difficult to pinpoint, and it’s yet another reason that the Whisperers will be one of the top villains the series has ever seen.
