Preview video: The Walking Dead season 9B midseason trailer

Take a look at some of the action fans will get when The Walking Dead returns to AMC for the final eight episodes of season 9.

The Walking Dead just gave viewers one of the darkest, freakiest, and most uncomfortable episodes in series history with the big season 9 midseason finale episode by introducing The Whisperers.

Now, the big question is what is next for the show. Of course, there will be the midseason break which will keep new episodes from airing until February, but there is plenty on the mind of fans heading into the second half of the season.

Here is the official trailer for the midseason premiere of season 9 as shared on the official YouTube channel of AMC:

There is quite a bit happening in this video, so here is a breakdown of the action from the official trailer:

• The group is returning home from their fight with The Whisperers and have a casket at The Hilltop. It is assumed the casket is for Jesus, and the community losing their leader will likely hit them quite hard.
• A new enemy is teased, which is The Whisperers. They were revealed in the midseason finale in a horrifying and shocking way, telling the survivors they are in a place where they shouldn’t be.
• The Whisperers are appearing in places they shouldn’t be, such as surrounding people in the woods and watching The Hilltop from the bushes.
• A girl in a cell is talking to what looks to be Daryl about belonging with people.
• More disjointed community talk is shared with The Kingdom talking about helping Alexandria survive even if it means their community will fall apart.
• A very intimidating looking person dressed as a walker appears and this individual looks extremely large and dangerous.
• Fighting, and more fighting!
• Negan opens the doors to The Sanctuary and lets out his signature whistle, possibly informing them that their leader his home.
