The newest surprise romance on AMC’s The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is known for making some unexpected things happen, but the newest romance in season 9 has a lot of viewers confused and intrigued.
Even with the undead everywhere, people will still do human things. On AMC’s The Walking Dead, characters eat, breathe, fight, and even fall in love after being brought together for a common cause.
The most recent romance on the show was revealed in the season 9 midseason finale when Henry arrived at The Hilltop to become a blacksmith and was talking to Carol about wanting to impress Enid during his time there.
Just as he was about to ask her if she wanted to get together when he was done with his blacksmithing work, Enid pulled Alden to the side and after a brief chat, they shared a kiss in public.
This was surprising for several reasons. When Alden was introduced, the initial thought was that he would take on the role of Dante in the comics, becoming infatuated with Maggie and sticking by her until she eventually caved in and moved on from Glenn. However, the AMC show does tend to differ from the comics at times and do unexpected things and this is one big surprise that could be interesting to watch.
Of course, Enid has become a medical expert by training under Siddiq. She stayed at The Hilltop even after the death of Sasha and Maggie moving on to live with Georgie at a different community. She’s becoming her own person with a purpose in the communities which makes her a much more interesting character than she was before.
Meanwhile, Alden was one of the most sympathetic members of The Saviors. When they were captured in season 8, he worked with Maggie and the people of The Hilltop, earning a spot in the community instead of returning to The Sanctuary. He is also working under
The coupling of these two charcters is big for The HIlltop, who just lost their leader, Jesus. With Tara the likely choice to take over as the leader, this opens a spot of Alden to possibly take her spot as an advisor. They have the potential to become another power couple in the zombie apocalypse.
