Jesus had some great moments throughout his time on The Walking Dead. Here are a few of the moments we will never forget.

The Walking Dead season 9 midseason finale claimed the life of The Hilltop leader and resident ninja Jesus when The Whisperers attacked. Jesus had no idea that he wasn’t fighting walkers until it was too late. Even though Jesus had formidable fighting skills, he wasn’t prepared for one of those walkers to turn around and stab him in the back.

Jesus burst on to The Walking Dead back in season 6 when he introduced Rick, Michonne, and the others to the larger world outside of Alexandria’s gates. Jesus told them about The Hilltop and The Saviors and promised their world was going to get a lot bigger. It definitely did. And without the help of Jesus, the survivors at Alexandria never would have been able to successfully win All Out War.

Jesus offered a lot more than just amazing fighting skill. He was a strong moral compass who believed that violence was a last resort and that the living shouldn’t kill each other unless absolutely necessary. He was the go-between that kept the peace at The Hilltop between Maggie and Gregory until it was time to fully embrace Maggie’s leadership. And when that moment came he was her advisor as well as her link to integrating into The Hilltop and the becoming part of that community.

Even though Jesus tried to keep himself emotionally detached from the community they embraced him for his strength, his skill, and his powerful belief in the possibility of redemption and inherent humanity in the survivors. Here are some of the moment that will define Jesus’ legacy on The Walking Dead:
