The Tension Between The Communities

What are your theories on what happened during the six year time jump that caused a rift between all of the communities?

Sonya says:

"To me it looks like it wasn’t one particular thing but a series of small things. One thing I think we can assume that Michonne had a really tough time after Rick disappeared and she kind of closed ranks in order to protect RJ and Judith, and Alexandria, because that community was so important to Rick and to Carl. I can’t fault her for putting her kids first."

Sara says:

"I think something happened with another group in Alexandria, possibly Oceanside, and it caused the Alexandrians to most likely kill them. We haven’t seen the Oceanside women after the time jump as yet, and my guess is that they were killed due to their violent nature."

Jeffrey says:

"I am seriously thinking that Oceanside has to be involved in some way. I feel as though Daryl and Maggie tried to keep what Cyndie and her people did to the Saviors under wraps for as long as possible, but I feel like it somehow got out. The conflict with the Saviors at the start of the season was a major reason why construction on the bridge wasn’t finished,  and is indirectly part of the reason why Rick “died.” Perhaps Michonne was angry when she found out what Oceanside did and sparked some sort of conflict that the others survivors did not agree with. Whatever happened had to have been really bad considering how divided everyone is now."

Sarabeth says:

"I think it was a combination of things. Resources seem to be a problem for the Kingdom and based on Michonne and Carol’s conversation it sounds like Alexandria wasn’t there to help. Michonne also seems to have made some unpopular decisions that were met with resistance."
