22) Paula (The Saviors)

Introduction: Paula was an ember-haired Savior who along with other Saviors kidnapped Carol, a pregnant Maggie, and Michonne as retaliation for Rick’s ambush on a Savior outpost. She was a bit of a nihilist. Even at death’s door, she told Carol to go on and finish what she started, mentioning that she’d already lost everything and was content with death after what she’d been forced to do and what she did to survive.

Biggest moment of Villainy: Paula tells Carol she “stopped feeling bad about killing people when she got to double digits.” She shoots at an escaped pregnant Maggie at one point before prodding Carol to finish her after being shot in the shoulder.

Everybody Hurts Sometimes: In many ways, Paula acted as a look into Carol’s future, and was already broken as a person when they meet. Paula actually seems to accept her fate until a walker starts biting her face.

The Good Side: It appears Paula might have been a regular person that could go either way before becoming a lieutenant of the Saviors. If she had survived, she might have joined Rick’s side eventually as Dwight did. As Rick once told Jed, “every life is precious.”

First Appearance: “Not Tomorrow Yet” (season 6, episode 12)

Last Appearance: “The Same Boat” (season 6, episode 13)

Cause of Death: Death by walker bite to the face after being shot in the shoulder by Carol.

Memorable Quote: “Go ahead, I’ve already lost everything.” (To Carol)
