2. Sasha Won’t Be Negan’s Pawn

Season 7, “The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life”

Just like Abraham, Sasha made the choice to give up her own life to protect others. Sasha had a rough journey on The Walking Dead. After losing Bob and then Tyreese, she wasn’t sure she wanted to live. But she fought her way back from that deep depression and painful period of her life and found purpose by helping the others and protecting her community. And then she finally found some short-lived happiness with Abe. But that was taken away from her too.

Sasha was ready to die when she and Rosita broke into The Sanctuary. So it’s not a big surprise that when Negan tried to recruit her, she chose to die rather than be used as Negan’s pawn to manipulate and hurt the survivors at Alexandria. She knew that Negan would pull some trick and someone would end up dying.

Sasha ended her own life so that none of the people she loved and that Abe loved would die. Sasha was ready to be reunited with Abe, and Tyreese, and everyone else that she had lost. And Eugene’s suicide pill gave her the opportunity to end her life in such a way that she might even be able to kill Negan after she turned.

She almost did take Negan out and end the war. Walker Sasha shocked everyone when she popped out of that coffin, especially Negan. She knocked Negan to the ground and almost bit him although he managed to get away at the last-minute. Still, her sacrifice gave Rick and the others the pause they needed to take back control of the situation and to fight back and eventually drive The Heapsters and The Saviors out of Alexandria.
