Amid all the chaos surrounding the release of The Walking Dead: The Final Season from Telltale Games, Epic Games is stepping up to help out the video game.

To be polite, the situation regarding The Walking Dead: The Final Season has been an absolute mess. There were times it appeared as though the game would never be completed, but thankfully several groups have stepped up to ensure it would reach gamers.

So far, Skybound has taken on the production of the game, getting developers from Telltale Games to help them finish the story of Clementine and the orphanage as they attempt to survive the zombie apocalypse, but there are still more hurdles the game needs to go through.

With Telltale Games closing their doors, sales of the game on PC needed to be redirected since they no longer will handle the distribution, another organization has picked up the job according to Variety.

Epic Games, founded by Tim Sweeney as Potomac Computer Systems in 1991 out of his parents’ house, is best known for their four successful game engines in the Unreal brand, but recently found a lot of success developing the worldwide phenomenon Fortnite.

Sales and distribution of The Walking Dead: The Final Season for PC will now move to Epic Games, however those who have already purchased the game will have their content delivered to them with no interruptions or delays, but new purchases will be handled through the developer.

President of interactive Dan Murray and Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe are excited to bring the game to the Epic Games Store according to a released statement:

"“We’re excited to work together on their latest transformative event with the launch of the Epic Games Store. Epic stepped up to the plate immediately to work with us in order to bring the original team back together and ensure fans will receive the completed season of ‘Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season.’”"

This will have no impact on those who already purchased the game on PC or console gamers who have bought the game on PS4 or Xbox One since those stores will still handle the sales going forward on their respective stores.
