The Walking Dead 2019: 3 New Year resolutions for Jerry
Jerry fought valiantly in All Out War, and he’ll have to take up arms again in The Walking Dead 9B. Here are 3 New Year’s resolutions to guide him.
Jerry has been a loyal subject to Ezekiel over the years, and he’s an integral member of the Kingdom. Since All Out War ended he has been in a relationship with Nabila, and he remains Ezekiel’s loyal companion. Jerry brings joy to the apocalypse, and it looks like the Kingdom needs a little joy. Here are 3 New Year’s resolutions for Jerry in The Walking Dead 9B.
Keep Being Yourself
Jerry has always been loyal to Ezekiel, and now that Carol is part of the Kingdom family he is equally loyal to her. He’s the guy they can always count on. Even when things looked bleak during All Out War, Jerry was there to bring some levity to the situation and there’s no denying that it’s what the world needed in those moments.
Things are about to get dark again, much darker than whatever has been happening at the Kingdom during the time jump. Jerry needs to keep being himself because he brings joy to a world that doesn’t have a lot to be joyful about.
Nabila
If Jerry hasn’t put a ring on Nabila’s finger yet, he should. They’re a great couple, and while I don’t normally advocate for setting long term relationships in the apocalypse (see Enid’s resolutions) I am very supportive of Jerry’s relationship with Nabila. I want to see that one work because they both deserve it.
When In Doubt, Bake
Jerry makes a mean cobbler. He needs to keep cooking for people. There is nothing like breaking bread with new people. I think Jerry and Luke will get along very well, and that they will enjoy cooking together.
The faire is something comic book readers know all too well, and for those of us who only watch the show we have no idea what’s going to happen other than the Whisperers are here and they’re terrifying. The best way to calm people who are scared is to comfort them, and Jerry (and his food) provides a lot of comfort. Keep it up, Jerry.
