The Walking Dead 2019: 3 New Year resolutions for Magna’s group
Magna’s group finally earned Michonne’s respect, so here are 3 New Year resolutions to keep the good will going in The Walking Dead 9B.
Of all the times for Magna’s group to arrive in Alexandria, it was at a time when Michonne wasn’t ready to trust anyone. Any other time and they would have been welcomed with open arms. But after Magna and Yumiko showed up to fight with Michonne, things are going to change. Here are 3 New Year’s resolutions for Magna’s group heading into The Walking Dead 9B.
Keep An Open Mind
While Magna isn’t thrilled at the icy reception, the rest of the group seems to understand that something awful happened between the communities that caused Michonne to not trust anyone. Luke really picked up on this.
The group knows that staying in one of the communities would be much better than being out in the woods on their own, so the goal is to become members of the community. It’s going to be hard to deal with people questioning whether they can be trusted, but it will happen eventually. Until then, they all need to keep an open mind.
Get To Know Everyone
The more people they meet, the easier it will be to integrate into the communities. Carol offered everyone a warm welcome, and Tara was certainly welcoming after letting Magna’s group know that they needed to earn their keep. Aside from Michonne’s initial cold shoulder, everyone in Alexandria was welcoming, too.
They need to keep meeting people, especially after returning from the fight with the Whisperers. This is a chance for the community residents to see that they’re all on the same side, and it’s easier to do that when you get to know the newcomers.
Make Yourself At Home
Tara’s request that the group earn their keep is important. Magna’s group can’t expect a free ride, so it’s important to show that they’re willing to fight with their new acquaintances as well as perform chores around the communities. That’s how Rick’s group integrates into Alexandria in the beginning and how Maggie came to be respected at Hilltop.
Trust has to start somewhere, and Magna’s group must show that they want to be part of the community. (For the record, we know they want to but they have to prove it thanks to whatever happened to cause such a breach in trust)
