The Walking Dead 2019: 3 New Year’s resolutions for Dog
Dog has made quite an impression on The Walking Dead and we have 3 New Year’s resolutions to keep Daryl’s new friend safe in 9B.
Daryl Dixon’s dog, aptly called Dog, made quite an impression in his debut on The Walking Dead. Though we don’t know how the duo met, they seem to be a well-oiled machine and work in tandem exceptionally well. With all of the threats coming in the second half of season 9, here are the 3 New Year’s resolutions that will keep Dog alive and well for a long time to come.
Man’s Best Friend
In a recent edition of The Walking Dead mailbag it was revealed that Daryl won’t have a romantic interest anytime soon, which probably makes sense given that he has only just come out of the woods. He has been alone for a long time and as soon as he emerged he was faced with the arrival of the Whisperers. Now is not the time for love.
Having Dog is what Daryl needs right now. He needs friends, and Dog is a loyal companion. Daryl puts Dog’s needs above his own, and Dog lets Daryl know when there are dangers near.
So long as Daryl has Dog, he isn’t alone.
Member Of The Team
When Daryl set out to redirect the walker herd to save Eugene, Jesus and Aaron, he worked in tandem with Dog, who helped to make noise to lure them away. It didn’t work, of course, because of the Whisperers, but Daryl and Dog gave it their best shot.
Dog is a part of team, and a valued one at that. He looks to have herding blood in his veins and that could be a useful tool in corralling walker herds.
Be The Outlier
Animals, as a general rule, haven’t fared well on The Walking Dead. With walkers hunting everything that moves, they don’t really stand a chance.
Dog seems to be different from other animals. He’s wise and he listens to Daryl, which helps a lot because they work as a team. Daryl watches out for him, and Dog alerts Daryl to danger.
Fans have already started petitions to keep Dog safe, and we have to think that he’s going to be around much longer than Shiva was because watching beloved animal friends die is hard to do, and seeing Daryl’s companion die would be heartbreaking.
Don’t die, Dog. Please be safe and don’t die.
