The Walking Dead: 15 things I want to see or get answers for in 9B

The Walking Dead fans are anxiously awaiting season 9B to see how the survivors will fight The Whisperers. Here are a few things that I want to see in 9B.

The Walking Dead season 9 midseason finale was a rough one. Losing Jesus was a big loss, even though he had a good death by The Walking Dead standards. A heroic death protecting the people you care about is the best that you can hope for in the post-apocalypse world.

But Jesus’ death is probably just the beginning of the deaths that are coming in the second half of season 9. The emotional first half of the season gave us some fantastic emotional moments and callbacks. There were moments of joy among the tears caused by Rick’s departure like seeing Rick and Hershel reunited, and moments of humor like Shane and Rick talking about the fact that Judith is Shane’s daughter.

The arrival of Magna and her group introduced some intriguing new characters and we got to meet RJ Grimes, the last piece of Rick that Michonne has left because she doesn’t know that Rick is still alive out there somewhere. Although I think she suspects that he could be out there somewhere since they never found a body. Michonne won’t give up hope.

But the intense buildup to Rick’s goodbye and the emotions surrounding it left a lot of questions about what happened during that huge six year time jump and what went on in the communities during that time. Presumably answers are coming, but there are some specific things that I want to see and questions I want answered in season 9B and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who wants these things:

1.       Where is Maggie and what is she doing? The simple answer that she’s with Georgie doesn’t cut it. What is she doing with Georgie that is taking all these years? Where is she? And most importantly – Hershel would be around 6 or 7 now and we need to see Glenn’s son grow up. We need it!

2.       Why did Michonne and Maggie have such a huge fight that they stopped communicating? The last time we saw them they were very close. What could possibly have broken that bond? They’ve been together since the prison. That’s a lot of history.

3.       How did Magna’s group survive this long? Obviously they have some skills but still, they must have been in a community or something because there’s no way they survived alone since the apocalypse began. Where are they really from?

4.       What happened to The Saviors? There was a quick statement about The Sanctuary falling apart but that was it. Did they disband? Some of The Saviors are in the other communities now, how did that come about? Will Negan find anyone still living at The Sanctuary?

5.       What exactly is this fair that The Kingdom is planning? Shouldn’t they be putting their resources into fixing the place up? It’s looking a little worn down.

6.       Why aren’t the communities working together anymore? Did everything fall apart because Rick is gone or was there another reason?

7.       It’s been like 8 years since Denise was killed. Is Tara ever going to get a girlfriend?

8.       Why were Eugene and Rosita at Oceanside? And why did they come back?

9.       I need to see Alpha. Hopefully in 909. She terrifies me and fascinates me and I know that Samantha Morton is going to be mesmerizing in this role.

10.   If the new group is going to stay at Hilltop who exactly is left in Alexandria? Did they take in workers from The Sanctuary?

11.   I want to see Alpha and Carol interact. Two forces of nature that will kill without a second thought if necessary should be really exciting to watch.

12.   I want to see Tara take over at The Hilltop and finally get the character development she deserves.

13.   I want to see some callback to Carl during the Lydia story arc that looks like it will be with Henry. In the comic Lydia had a very interesting arc with Carl and it looks like Henry will get that arc now. But they should throw in a callback or reference to Carl since it should have been his arc.

14.   It’s a long shot but I’d really enjoy seeing the Fear squad show up in Virginia at some point. I wonder what the twins would make of The Whisperers and I would love to see Morgan interacting with Alpha.

15.   I want to see Madison show up as a Whisperer. I know that won’t happen, but that would be really cool.
