Fans of The Walking Dead know that the locations our survivors inhabit are characters themselves. Visiting Senoia, Georgia and taking the studio tour allows for the unique opportunity to actually step foot in some of these locations and relive so many iconic moments.

When the inevitable zombie apocalypse strikes, the best place to hunker down might just be a small town about 30 miles south of Atlanta. Senoia is a quiet and peaceful southern town that also happens to be home to several of the major sets of The Walking Dead. Fans from all over the world converge on this seemingly normal town to explore the various backroads and buildings that Rick Grimes and his family have been seen killing walkers and hiding out at.

For years, I have waited for the day that an official tour of the main sets of The Walking Dead would become reality. Beginning in late 2018, Riverwood Studios made that reality come true as they began hosting weekend tours of their backlots, which house several iconic locations from the most recent seasons of the show. Running $65 for adults and $45 for children, you can explore the places our heroes call home.

As a huge fan of The Walking Dead, the opportunity to take this tour was just too amazing to pass up. Before and after taking the official tour, I also took some time to explore Senoia and the surrounding towns to see some of the lesser-known filming locations that are now solidified in the lore of this zombie drama. This article will include some of the highlights of main The Walking Dead Studio Tour itself and also some must-see things in Senoia that you should check out if you visit.
