Jon Bernthal was amazing on AMC’s The Walking Dead as Shane Walsh and he will bring his talents to the upcoming prequel film for the Sopranos.

During the first two seasons of The Walking Dead, one of the brightest spots was watching Jon Bernthal portray Shane Walsh. As the friend and partner or Rick Grimes, his love triangle involving Lori came to a crushing and jaw-dropping conclusion in the show’s 18th episode.

Since then, Bernthal has found a lot of success outside of the zombie apocalypse. He has been in feature films like Baby Driver, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Sicario, and others as well as popular television shows like Mob City, Show Me  A Hero, and Daredevil.

His biggest role to date has been as Frank Castle in The Punisher. Reprising his character from Daredevil, Bernthal has earned a massive amount of praise for the show which has just recently its second season on Netflix.

Bernthal will be joining the ranks of another massively popular franchise according to Variety when he brings his acting skills to the movie prequel for the Sopranos.

The movie is already shaping up to have a magnificent cast, including Vera Farmiga, Alessandro Nivola, Billy Magnussen, and Corey Stoll as well as Michael Gandolfini who will play the young version of Tony Soprano in honor of his late father James Gandolfini, who had the role on the hit HBO television series.

The film should have a similar feel to the hit TV show considering it is being directed by Alan Taylor, who was at the helm for nine episodes of the Sopranos. In addition, he directed seven episodes of Game of Thrones, four episodes of Mad Men, and much more over the course of his career.
