The Walking Dead is named the most in-demand series in the world while Stranger Things wins the most in-demand digital series of 2018.

The Walking Dead took home the Global TV Demand Award for being the most in-demand series in the world, with Netflix juggernaut Stranger Things taking home the title for most in-demand digital series. The awards were announced at the NATPE conference in Miami.

Despite lackluster ratings in recent seasons, The Walking Dead continues to be the top rated show on Sunday nights by a wide margin. It was the most pirated show of 2018 and it also owned the highly sought after 18-49 year old demographic. And now Parrot Analytics has determined that the zombie apocalypse show continues to capture the world’s attention after nine seasons.

Executive producer Denise Huth was on hand in Miami with cast members Pollyanna McIntosh and Josh McDermitt to accept the award on the show’s behalf.

The Walking Dead received the award at the inaugural Global TV Demand Award ceremony at the NATPE conference in Miami on Tuesday. The determination for the award is based on algorithms from Parrot Analytics that measure demand for a show in over 100 worldwide markets and in various platforms, including traditional cable format as well as digital streaming services.

It’s worth noting that The Walking Dead continues to be a dominant force around the world, with fans on every continent. Walker Stalker Conventions in Europe are packed full of international fans who have embraced the show, and it’s those international numbers that helped give the show the edge it needed to claim the award.
