The Walking Dead star lands interesting Young Justice: Outsiders role
By Adam Carlson
Many actors from The Walking Dead land great roles elsewhere and one member of the show’s cast has an interesting new gig on Young Justice: Outsiders.
The Walking Dead has seen many members of their cast land roles in some of the biggest of the DC or Marvel comic book universes. Whether it is live action or voice work, it is great to see these amazing franchises including actors from the zombie apocalypse.
Recently, Newsweek shared information that Khary Payton would be joining the cast of Young Justice: Outsiders where he will play the role of Silas Stone, the father of Vic Stone. Vic, of course, is better known in the DC Universe as Cyborg.
The reason this casting news is interesting is that the man who plays King Ezekiel on AMC’s The Walking Dead will be playing the father of Cyborg, which is the role he currently voices on the hit cartoon series Teen Titans Go.
Voice acting for both Cyborg and his father on two different programs should be a fun and unique challenge. He can take what he has put into his role as Cyborg and apply to the role as Silas Stone or attempt to take on different ways of voicing Vic’s father. Curious individuals can get a peek at the character in this teaser from IGN’s YouTube channel.
Payton is known for voicing so many great characters over the course of his career and being part of many wonderful franchises. His credits include amazing properties such as Kingdom Hearts, The Lion Guard, Big Hero 6: The Series, Sofia the First, Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Be Cool, Scooby-Doo, Ben 10: Omniverse, and many, many more!
The episode introducing Vic Stone will be episode 11 of Young Justice: Outsiders titled, “Another Freak,” set to premiere on Friday, Jan. 25. However, it is unknown as to whether or not this will be when The Walking Dead actor Khary Payton’s Silas Stone will make his debut as well.
