The Walking Dead 909 recap: Adaptation
The group returns to the Hilltop and everyone comes out to see Michonne with the prisoner and Aaron with Jesus’s body. The sadness can be seen on their faces. Tara touches Jesus and cries. Enid goes to Aaron for a hug. Yumiko and Magna help Daryl with the body.
They lock up the girl, and Tammy Rose tells Tara that they will look to her for leadership, and justice. Tara knows. In the prison cell they put the girl in the cell while Henry looks on. Daryl is surprised to see Henry in jail. He tells Henry that Jesus is dead. Michonne throws the girl in a chair and gets ready to make her talk.
Negan finds a menswear store. Inside he finds the “leather goods” section and finds a flashlight, and then he finds a jacket. He doesn’t even check it for spiders, which is brave. It’s probably full of them. Suddenly there’s a noise. A group of hungry dogs has found him and these aren’t like Daryl’s dog at all. Negan runs away from them, and he manages to get outside and throw a walker in with them. Negan escapes with his jacket.
Luke and Alden talk about music. Alden thinks music would be nice for the fair, and he could sing while Luke plays. Luke spots an arrow. It’s one of Yumiko’s. A walker approaches and Luke loses his footing. Alden jumps in to save him. Luke declares their two-man band “Symphony of Awesome.” He finds another arrow and thinks she’s leaving them for them to find her. They can hear a massive herd nearby. It’s moving south.
Michonne wants to know how many more people are out there. Tara wants her name, but they don’t have names. It’s not how it works. Daryl asks why they wear skins. She insists they wore the skins to live, and that they’re good people and they were only trying to see if they were good people too. Michonne wants to know if they knew about Hilltop, but the girl can’t answer anything.
Outside, Michonne says she doesn’t trust her at all. Tara wants to try again, but Michonne says she’s leaving because she has to let Alexandria know. Tara says the new people can stay there, and she thanks Michonne for her help. Once Tara has walked away, Michonne tells Daryl that keeping her there is a risk and Daryl knows what he has to do.
