When Alpha comes a knocking, don’t answer the door. Here’s your recap of The Walking Dead season 9 episode 11, “Bounty.”

This week’s episode begins with some huge news at the Kingdom. First, though, Jerry has to spit his gum out. Once that’s taken care of, he swears Ezekiel and Carol to secrecy and the reveals that he and Nabila are expecting a baby. She’s 8 weeks along. Ezekiel is so happy to hear that “the future begins.”

The trio is interrupted by two riders on horseback who arrive with a couple of walkers trying unsuccessfully to give chase. It’s Tara…and JESUS. Jesus…it’s Jesus! He’s back! (Naturally this means we’re seeing a glimpse of the past) They’re meeting up to get some medical supplies from the Kingdom, because the Hilltop has been recovering from some kind of ailment. But there’s more: Tara announces that she’s not returning to Alexandria because the Council wouldn’t provide more supplies for Hilltop, so she took what she could and left.

Before she left, though, she took an item that Michonne wasn’t using, and since Maggie isn’t happy with Michonne right now Jesus and Tara decided that Ezekiel should have it. He’s touched by it, saying that he still thinks the communities will come together and live as one, so he’s honored to keep it.

Jerry wants to “peep” it. Sure enough, it’s the draft of the charter that Michonne made, handwritten, with places for the communities to sign.

Later, Ezekiel ponders the document in his throne room as Diane gives him a five minute warning. He takes a final look at the charter and now we see the full view of the bottom. There are places for Kingdom, Hilltop, Oceanside, Sanctuary and Alexandria to sign.

Outside there are tables set up and Ezekiel gets a report from Diane that they have found enough Elk to feed the communities for a week, but they have to get to them before the walkers do. Ezekiel is thrilled. Carol comes up to him and asks if he knows something about Alexandria, but he just dismisses it as a hope that they will come. Carol is ready to go on the hunt. The Queen (don’t call her that, she says with a smile) will not be stuck at the Kingdom making preparations for the fair. It’s almost ready, anyway. She says she was ready to come back but she is missing Henry, which she says as she looks at Jerry and Nabila and their THREE kids. Ezekiel gets on his horse and tells everyone that it will all work out. Onward!

(This means that everything from the throne room to the King getting on the horse was in the present)

Meanwhile, the Whisperers have posted up on the Hilltop’s front lawn as Daryl and Kelly join the women on the tower.

Tara announces that the Hilltop is able to defend itself, but Alpha says she’s showing her face because she wants to prove that all she wants is her daughter. Daryl tells her to leave now so no one gets hurt. “Wrong answer,” she replies, raising her arm. Soon, the whole field is swarming with Whisperers.

Cue the credits, here we go.
