The Walking Dead 911 was an intense episode that kept fans talking for long after the episode ended. Here’s what fans on social media thought of “Bounty”.
The Walking Dead upped the intensity in season 9 episode 11 as Alpha and Daryl faced off over Lydia and a group from the Kingdom went on a mission to find a projector bulb in an old theater with a herd bearing down on them.
The exchange between Daryl and Alpha at the Hilltop showed fans more of the power that Alpha and delivered one of the most intense scenes in season 9. Alpha’s quiet creepiness was unnerving, but it was seeing her power over the Whisperers that was really scary.
When a Whisperer was unable to quiet her baby and walkers were creeping closer Alpha gestured to her and the woman put her baby on the ground to be devoured by walkers. Without a word, a cry, or any emotion at all the woman was ready to abandon the baby and watch it get torn apart by walkers because Alpha commanded it. That’s absolute power, and it was terrifying to watch.
Luke, who was being held prisoner by the Whisperers along with Alden, saw Connie in the cornfield behind them and managed to sign to her using ASL that there was a baby in trouble. Connie risked her life to dart out and grab the infant and her sprint through the corn rows being pursued by the walkers as she held the baby was intense and terrifying.
Shot from Connie’s point of view with the sound muted to mimic what the experience was like for her as a deaf person it was a chill-inducing sequence that stunned fans. Fans seemed split on whether or not Daryl was right to give Lydia back to Alpha but fans can all agree that Alpha is a villain unlike any that has been seen on The Walking Dead before.
