The Kingdom may not be ready for the Whisperers attack that is almost certainly coming to The Walking Dead. Our panel has thoughts on what might happen.

On The Walking Dead King Ezekiel has tried hard to create a magical retreat from the horrors of the apocalypse in the Kingdom. And for the most part, he’s done a good job. But now the Kingdom is falling apart and the King needs to deliver more than flowery speeches and idealism in order to keep the community going.

The fair that the Kingdom is planning is a great idea, but in reality, it’s got disaster written all over it. The other communities are not playing well together right now and the fair may not be enough to get everyone back to the table. Whatever went wrong between the communities is going to need more than a group celebration to fix. And with the Kingdom’s buildings deteriorating the people of the Kingdom would be better off fixing up their community than wasting resources on a fair.

There’s also the small matter of the Whisperers who, thanks to Henry, know about the community and know where it’s located. It’s safe to assume that it’s just a matter of time until Alpha decides to pay a visit to the Kingdom. Are the people of the Kingdom ready to face a threat like Alpha and the Whisperers? It doesn’t seem like they are going to be able to defend themselves against the Whisperers without help from the other communities. Our panel seems to agree on the battle readiness of the Kingdom and what’s coming up for that community:

Is The Kingdom Ready For Battle?

The Kingdom seems to take a laid back approach to the world of the apocalypse, do you think that they can survive the Whisperers?

Sonya says:

"I don’t think they’re ready. I think Carol is ready, because Carol is always ready for things to go bad. But I think Ezekiel and the rest of the Kingdom have bought into the fantasy that Ezekiel gave them a little too much and it’s going to end up having some devastating consequences. I was really surprised that Ezekiel, Jerry, and the others on the run would risk so much for a light bulb. I think that shows that they are feeling a little too comfortable and secure and when the Whisperers show up they will not be ready for an attack from such a brutal adversary."

Sara says:

"The Kingdom survivors are a great group of people. They have a lot of heart, and radiate nothing but positivity, but that’s what worries me. I’m not sure if they have that balance between fantasy & reality. I love that they think they have everything under control, but I’m not sure that their laid back approach will hold up well with the Whisperers. I think that Carol also knows that the fantasy approach may not be realistic."

Jeffrey says:

"I’m extremely worried about the Kingdom. I totally respect and love them for being able to have fun and be relaxed…but we have a war brewing. They don’t know anything about that yet, so that makes me worry even more. During All Out War, the Kingdom forces were decimated and I fear that after years of Ezekiel building back up his fighters, we may see history repeat itself. We know that the Kingdom is falling apart, but it’s really beautiful to see so much hope and positivity from its residents. Whatever happens, I just hope that positivity isn’t lost forever."

What do you think TWDFamily? What are the Kingdom’s chances against the Whisperers? They do have Carol on their side, but that may not be enough to keep the Kingdom safe from such a savage group.
