In the latest episode of The Walking Dead titled ‘Guardians’, Alpha proved that she is the most dangerous character to ever appear in The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead has had an iconic history of dangerous villains like the Governor and Negan, but not even they can compare to the barbaric force that is Alpha. Alpha doesn’t need to shout or raise her voice at her people in order to assert her dominance in the group, her aura says it all. Her coy and eerie mannerisms mask the true gruesome killer that lies underneath the mask.

In this season 9 episode 12, Alpha is confronted by a member of her group named Sean who suggests that Alpha isn’t fit to be the leader of the group. He is joined by his girlfriend Helen, who also agrees with his opinion. In this whole moment, Alpha acts very nonchalantly, but it doesn’t take long before she shows her true form. Alpha decapitated Helen right in front of Sean and then handed him his girlfriend’s head before killing him too. It was one of the most shocking and nightmarish scenes in the history of the show.

Alpha is also way more terrifying than any other villain in the show because being sinister has always been a part of her natural being. Alpha revealed that before the apocalypse, she almost let Lydia suffocate to death before helping her and then hit her hard so she wouldn’t do it again.

This story about Lydia nearly suffocating established that Alpha has always been a monster, even before the apocalypse began. We haven’t heard such monstrous backstories come from the Governor or Negan, but it can’t be as bad as what Alpha did. Alpha is in her natural habitat where she can roam free and play around with her victims in any way she chooses.

When it comes to controlling her people, it seems like the walker mentality means a lot more than just a nice costume to Alpha. It could be debated that Alpha may like the fact that maybe she wants her people to act as walkers because she has a “controlling the herd mentality”.  It’s just a different way of saying that Alpha is running her own eerie cult in the zombie apocalypse. The Whisperers live in a campground that basically acts as a graveyard for the living, and Alpha is the Grim Reaper. Anyone who dares question her authority or crosses into her territory is a goner for sure.
