The Walking Dead, Guardians: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
1) The discussion between Michonne, Siddiq, Laura, Aaron, Nora, and Father Gabriel outright makes it sound like The Council’s role in Alexandria is, essentially, superfluous, and that Michonne is the de facto leader of the community.
2) The Whisperers gathering around the river to eat (And, maybe, rest?) gives us our first little glimpse into how they behave when not with a herd.
3) After catching Henry, Alpha questions if he was alone, indicating she’s smart enough to suspect he might not have been, but Beta informs her that Henry was alone, meaning that, as clever and observant as Alpha and Beta are, they’re not sharp enough to have noticed Daryl and Connie.
4) Before leaving the river, Alpha refers to the dead (Or, at least, I hope she’s referring to the dead) as “The Hungry Ones”. This is the first name for the walkers we’ve heard from The Whisperers, and the 22nd(?) name overall for the dead in the show.
5) As Alpha leads The Whisperers away with Henry, counting her, Beta, and Lydia, there appear to be at least thirty Whisperers, though, we later learn this is only a fraction of their overall numbers.
6) Is it weird that the closest thing we get to anything maternal from Alpha to Lydia is complimenting her about her ability to lie?
