The Walking Dead, Guardians: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
7) The large camp Henry is taken to is, presumably, the “Our land” Alpha referred to in the previous episode, “Bounty”.
8) After being taken to The Whisperers’ camp, Henry begins asking Lydia about it, during this exchange, there appears to be at least fifty more Whisperers, which, when added to the thirty-odd traveling group we saw earlier, makes The Whisperers at least eighty strong.
9) Additionally, as Beta shoves Henry along before getting Lydia a new skin, you can see a pair of Whisperers carrying what looks like a completely skinned human body. Are they taking walkers’ entire skins? Why?
10) On a side note, I’m glad we see Connie make a point of telling Daryl to face her when he talks. I was afraid they were just going to pretend she could understand Daryl when she had NO EARTHLY MEANS TO.
11) Alpha saying “The strong adapt, the weak die, as nature intended.” is the second reference to the laws of Nature that Alpha has made. Clearly, Alpha’s philosophy is that The Whisperers’ tactic is a natural adaptation/evolution of human behavior; That the world is now survival of the fittest, and The Whisperers’ behavior makes them the fittest.
12) Sean and Helen challenging Alpha is the second time we’ve seen a group have a formal arrangement for contesting leadership within the group, the first being Simon challenging Negan for control of The Saviors in Season Eight’s penultimate episode, “Worth”.
