One character went above and beyond during season 9 episode 13 of The Walking Dead titled “Chokepoint” to be called the Most Valuable Person.

The Walking Dead delivered another interesting episode in season 9 when Beta and a group of the Whisperers went out to look for Lydia and get some retribution for Daryl and Connie unleashing walkers on their camp. In addition, the Kingdom was dealing with an issue of their own, with a group called the Highwaymen trying to extort them.

As far as great moments and powerful scenes, there were quite a few in season 9 episode 13. Among everything that happened, some characters rose to the occasion while others struggled to find their footing.

As usual, one individual stood out more than others to be named the Most Valuable Person. After a little consideration, one character from season 9 episode 13 of The Walking Dead titled “Chokepoint” was chosen for the honor.

THE MVP FROM TWD 913 IS DARYL DIXON

There were really only three options for this award: Daryl, Connie, or Carol. Each one had some great positives to go with everything they did, but Mr. Dixon did something nobody else did. He took on Beta one-on-one.

The fight between Daryl and Beta was an intense one with plenty of twists and turns. Despite taking some serious blows, Daryl refused to give up Lydia and continued to fight back. Eventually, he outsmarted Alpha’s right-hand man and won the battle by knocking him down an open elevator shaft.

But it was more than just one fight which earned him the honor. When Connie wanted to leave Lydia behind and return to the Hilltop, Daryl refused. He knew the danger going back would put on Tara and the community. Plus, he knew Henry would never leave without Lydia, and he still takes his responsibility of looking after Carol’s adopted son seriously.

His plan on bringing a wounded Henry to Alexandria might be a ploy to try to get Henry and Lydia to stay there, but that will be a tough sell with how stingy Michonne is with new arrivals. Still, his desire to keep everyone together while trying to keep everyone safe is admirable.
