2. Don’t forget the popcorn

A conflict has been resolved in a lot of ways on The Walking Dead but the way the Kingdom handled the extortion letter from the Highwaymen has to be one of the most unusual ways a standoff has ever ended on the show.

When negotiations started to go south with the leader of the group and King Ezekiel’s attempt at a compromise was laughed at, Carol was able to act quickly and think up something so absurd that it not only caught them off guard but piqued their interest as well.

Violence seemed like the only way out of the situation, but as soon as Carol asked the leader of the Highwaymen when the last time they watched a movie was, the entire nature of the interaction changed.

It’s great that something as absurd as a movie can change the entire scope of interaction and change a hostile situation into one which benefits everyone. It’s not like Carol couldn’t have killed all of them, but she really didn’t have to and now has assets to help the Hilltop.
