50 States and DC ranked by Zombie Apocalypse survivability
39. South Carolina
South Carolina has a lot to offer refugees from the zombie apocalypse. There are lots of places to go, ranging from historic landmarks to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Hurricanes can be problematic for South Carolina zombie refugees, so make sure you find a place that is both safe from zombies and capable of riding out a storm, because the last thing you need is to be stuck in a hurricane full of flying zombies.
Popular tourist spots like Myrtle Beach offer large resorts where shelter can be found. Holing up on the top floor of a hotel isn’t a bad option, but you have to protect your stairwell so you have a way down when you have to go on supply runs. Golf courses are open spots than offer clear views of approaching zombies, so this can be both a good thing and a bad thing if you can’t defend a large area by yourself.
Another great place to go is to Hilton Head, which is a low country island full of golf resorts. Islands have the same double-edged sword problem of being a great place to be only after all of the zombies have been cleared away.
