29. Maryland

Maryland is another city on the Atlantic Coast that features a lot of harbors and ports. The state’s extensive system of waterways make it easy to navigate the waters by boat, which means you should find a boat and set sail to keep safe from the zombie attack.

First stop in Maryland is Chesapeake Bay. You might be aching for a clambake, but with the zombies on your tail you need to stay focused. Start with the town’s maritime museum. You’ll need all of the boating supplies you can find, and without power the old-fashioned navigation tools might come in handy. There’s also a lighthouse there that could serve as a great shelter.

Annapolis is another must-see stop on your zombie survival tour of Maryland. Annapolis is the home of the United States Naval Academy, and here you’ll find more supplies, likely including maritime resources, ammunition and weapons.

Maryland is a state with plentiful supplies, but you’ll have to get creative on the resources. Boats are both great shelters in the apocalypse and horrible ones, depending on how many zombies are in the water, so having weapons to protect yourself are critical. But after that, you’ll have a floating safe haven.
