First rule of zombie survival in Minnesota: Stay warm. Second rule: Stay warm. Third rule: You guessed it – stay warm.
These days we throw around words like the “polar vortex” that sends some states into frigid temperatures. How does minus 45 degrees sound? Now imagine finding yourself in the middle of a polar vortex during a zombie apocalypse. The biggest problem is that you won’t know it’s coming, so you have to be ready for it at all times. In fact, as soon as the first snowflakes start falling you should fully expect to find yourself in a polar vortex and have a suitable shelter that can somehow withstand the temperatures.
Sure, the weather will slow the zombies down, but being stuck in the elements can kill you faster than one of the undead. So be prepared.
The best advice in this case is to stick to the big cities. It’s counterintuitive to what we’ve been saying all along about getting away from people, but in this case a building with insulation and a fireplace can help you weather the winter. You’ll need some supplies, though, so finding some hydroponic plants that can be grown inside would be a fantastic idea. Go to a library and learn how to can foods so you’ll have supplies all winter long. Trust me, you won’t want to go outside with those temperatures.
