Between the Great Smoky Mountains, the famed Biltmore Estate and the pristine beaches of the Outer Banks, there’s something for everything for people seeking shelter from the zombie apocalypse.
For folks looking to get out of the city, there are plenty of places to hide away deep in the Great Smoky Mountains. There’s plentiful hunting and fishing there, which means food won’t be an issue. And given the scarcity of people, you won’t be inundated by zombies. There are also several Civil War battlefields that might make good places to take shelter. Open fields can be a major benefit if you’re looking for visibility.
For those who want to live the Victor Strand kind of life, head to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Strand, as fans of Fear the Walking Dead know, appreciates the finer things in life and he’s been known to hole up in mansions and abandoned estates on occasion.
The beach is another good place for survival, because there will always be food to eat. Just make sure you keep an eye out for water zombies washing up on the beach. Make friends with the great white sharks in the area and you might be able to use them to draw the zombies away.
And keep an eye out for Michael Jordan.
