50 States and DC ranked by Zombie Apocalypse survivability
25. Utah
Utah is a great place to get stuck during a zombie apocalypse. We’ll talk about the landscape in a minute. The biggest benefit to being in Utah is the prevalence of food storage warehouses. One very cool aspect of the Mormon Church belief system is the missive to store food for families. That means houses will be pretty well stocked and there will probably be a secondary pantry on the property.
There are also places that make emergency supply kits, and that’s where you should go first. Those kits have a shelf life of at least five years, so you’ll be able to eat well for a while. And you’ll also be able to give your crops time to grow as well. Bonus.
Utah’s geography is diverse, but the winters can be pretty severe. You can try to survive out in the mountains, but you might be better off sticking to the big cities and trying to make a go of it with other people.
Southern Utah has milder winters, so you might head south and live near the Nevada border. With all of those emergency kits you can develop a trade system and exchange emergency kits for fresh food.
