Chi-Town is the place to be in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. Wrigley Field is probably one of the best ballparks to take shelter in because it’s like a little castle. And it’s full of bats. And there is food. And Bill Murray could be there. It’s not a terrible place to be stuck in the apocalypse.

Willis Tower is another possibility. Sure, you have to protect stairwells because the only way up and down would be the stairs, but if you can work that problem then taking refuge in one of the tallest buildings in the world gives you a bird’s eye view of the end of civilization.

For survivors near Galena, there’s the home of Ulysses S. Grant to think about. This large estate is a place where you can take shelter in the lap of luxury. Comfort is important.

Navy Pier is a place that could be turned into an oasis if you cut off the access point and keep the zombies from gaining access. You’re surrounded by water on three sides, so that gives you some protection.

The Illinois River is a great resource. If you can commandeer a boat you can travel around. You’ll either need a sailboat or a riverboat that runs on steam, but being on a boat gives you options.
